Web Prototype

Concept

ReShift focuses on the problem of low rates of sustainability practices among young North Americans. Stemming from the personal interest in the field of environmental preservation, this project concluded four years of my design studies.

Solution

A proposed solution the problem mentioned above is developing an online educational platform that will serve as a repository for the information on recycling, sustainable shopping and cutting down consumption of products made out of the most polluting materials.

Based on marketing research strong brand identity and universality of the online tool have the  potential to fill in the existing gap in the market and direct target audience towards actionable steps.

Research

In order to better understand the issue and the target audience a variety of design thinking methods was used throughout the ideation process. Some of the tools used: empathy map, site map, user flow map, user journey map, site structure map.

Branding

ReShift’s brand aims to be modern and visually appealing to younger audience while staying trustworthy and friendly. Brand’s name inspires selection of complimentary colors and typographic treatment of a logo as a metaphor for change.

Wireframes

Creating a dynamic and engaging layout to capture audience’s attention was surely a challenge during wireframing step. Putting emphasis on asymmetric positioning of elements and visual and text hierarchy helped achieving this.

Web Prototype

Web prototype is a web platform that focuses on educating visitors on various sustainability topics, such as, plastics, fashion, and electronics, and encouraging them to change their behavior through gamification aspect of the website.

Promotion

ReShift platform will be promoted on social media, such as, Instagram and Facebook as those two are used mostly by the target audience. Sponsored posts and stories will use transformational messaging, clear and attractive imagery and call to action for users to check out the website.
